Pete Cramer had a simple desire when starting PC Cattle Company in 1998: He wanted to produce healthy meat products for his family and friends. He began selling beef with the SLO County Farmers’ Market Association and soon realized that locally raised pork and lamb were also in high demand. He and wife Jordin are raising their family with the goal of developing a love for agriculture. Jordin has taken over the helm and manages the meat business and Farmers’ Market. Their daughters Hazel and Francis are proof positive that a life in agriculture provides a wonderful opportunity where children learn to respect and care for animals. Hazel, at age 3, helps Mom at the Farmers’ Market and is learning the importance of customer service and public relations, and is even starting her own egg business. Francis, at nine months, is learning patience by helping Dad with ranch work and chores while the other girls are at the Market.
